Lady don killed in UP

Lucknow, May 9- Lady don Meera alias Seema Jatav, who was critically injured after she jumped from the police van to fled from police custody in Farukkabad finally succumbed to her injuries in Kanpur. Having several cases of loot, theft, NDPS Act and even Gangsters Act against her name, the lady don challenged a huge police team accompanying her to lodge her in jail. She managed to overpower the cops to get her released from their custody but her luck run short as she was injured after she jumped from the police van. Taking serious note of the police team failure to prevent lady don from getting her released from their custody, district police chief of Farukkabad, suspended station house officer of Kalamganj police station, Saliqram Verma, sub-inspector Hari Om Sharma, constables Yaseen Khanm Kalam Singh, Women constable Naraini Devi and other team members. He also ordered a magisterial enquiry into the matter. A police report said here today Meera hailing from Gursahaiganj locality of Kannauj, was arrested by the cops of the Kamalganj police station on April 30 after finding her running a gang of drugs suppliers. She was booked under the NDPS Act as well as under Gangsters Act by the local police. Meera already had several cases of loots, theft and other heinous crimes registered against her name. The cops produced her before the magistrate who sent the lady don for 14-day judicial remand. Reports further said when Seema was shifted to Central Jail in Farukkabad under heavy police security, she suddenly challenged them that too when the vehicle was passing just opposite the Reserve Police Line. Seema overpowered the cops and jumped from the police jeep but she suddenly slipped and fell on the road in which she received injuries on her head. The cops immediately nabbed her back and shifted her to local Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital from where she was referred to Medical College in Kanpur. While all the police men accompanying Seema have been placed under suspension, Magisterial inquiry along with Departmental inquiry has been also ordered in the matter. Reports said after fighting for life for over a week, Seema finally succumbed to her injuries last night.
