New York: Current cricketing sensation Virat Kohli is the lone sports icon from India, to be featured in the world's 100 highest paid athletes in the latest Forbes list.
Branded as the "Indian cricket phenom", Kohli has been ranked 89th on the 2017 Forbes list of 'The World's highest paid athletes.
' The Indian skipper draws in a massive pay of USD 22 million that includes USD three million from salary and winnings and another 19 million from endorsements.
The list also mentioned that last year, Kohli earned nearly USD 1 million in salary and match fees playing for India and he's also among the Indian Premier League's (IPL) highest-paid players, thanks to a USD 2.
3 million salary from the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Forbes further added that the 28-year-old superstar has already drawn a comparison to all-time great Sachin Tendulkar "for good reason".
Portuguese soccer sensation and Real Madrid superstar Christiano Ronaldo is the highest paid sports icon with a total income of USD 93 million.
Second in the list is American basketball star LeBron James with USD 86.

Argentine forward and Barcelona wizard Lionel Messi is at the third position with USD 80 million and Tennis legend Roger Federer and basketball player Kevin Durant occupied fourth place with USD 64 million each.
The list, however, features only one woman icon.
Tennis star Serena Willaims is placed at 51st position, with USD 27 million.
