Kanpur : New Zealand were 238/5 against India at lunch on day three of the first test at the Green Park stadium here this afternoon. The visitors are still trailing by 80 runs against India's first innings total of 318. Resuming the day on a comfortable 152/1, the Kiwis received jolts on the beggining of day three as Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravinder Jadeja scalped two wickets apiece on a spinner friendly track.
Ashwin dismissed opener Tom Latham (58) and skipper Kane Williamson (75). Jadeja on the other hand sent back middle order batsman Ross Taylor on a duck and Luke Ronchi (38), before they could settle down. Mitchell Santner (28) and B Watling (3) were unbeaten at the crease at the time of lunch.
