J&K declares 3-day mourning on death of Gen Rao

Jammu, Jan 30 - As a mark of respect to General KV Krishna Rao, the former Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, who passed away today, Jammu and Kashmir government has decided that three days' State mourning will be observed from January 31.


''During the State mourning, the National and state Flags shall fly at half mast on all buildings and places, where they are flown regularly and there will be no official entertainment and function during the State mourning,'' said an official spokesman.


Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Governor NN Vohra has expressed grief over the sad demise of Gen Rao. In a condolence message, the Governor has conveyed his sympathies to the members of the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
