J&K Assembly witnesses noisy scenes, debate on GST resumes

Srinagar:  Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly today witnessed noisy scenes for about 20 minutes after treasury and Opposition members exchanged heated arguments.
While the ruling BJP demanded action against Er Sheikh Abdul Rashid for his remarks on Syama Prasad Mookerjee, who died in prison in Srinagar after his arrest for entering the state without “Permit” in 1953, the Opposition National Conference (NC) said an FIR should be registered against PDP member and minister Imran Raza Ansari for threatening NC Devinder Singh Rana yesterday.
As soon as the House assembled on the second day of four-day special session on implementation of Goods and Service Tax (GST) in the state, members from treasury and opposition benches were on their feet, demanding permission to raise their issues.
BJP MLA and party president in the state, Sat Sharma demanded action against Er Rashid for his remarks on Mr Mukherjee.
How can Er Rashid make such a remark against a person who worked for the unity of the country, he said and asked the House to take action against Er Rashid who also challenged that Kashmir was not an integral part of India.
