Jaitley files fresh defamation case of Rs 10 cr against Kejriwal

New Delhi: Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley today filed another defamation suit against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, seeking damages in the amount of Rs 10 crore.
The suit is apart from previous civil defamation case.
Jaitley had filed a complaint against the Aam Aadmi Party leaders in December 2015, asserting that they made defamatory statements against him regarding alleged irregularities during his tenure as president of the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) from December 1999 to December 2013.
Kejriwal, along with other AAP leaders, are currently facing trial in the Delhi High Court on charges of defamation.
In March, 2016, the court had framed notices against Kejriwal along with Kumar Vishwas, Ashutosh, Sanjay Singh, Raghav Chadha and Deepak Bajpai.
