ISIS not a threat in Kashmir, says PDP chief

New Delhi, Dec 12 -ISIS does not represent Islam, and they are not a threat in Kashmir, People's Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti said today.

Speaking at Agenda Aajtak organised here by India Today group, Ms. Mufti said,''they (IS) do not preach real Islam. They preach slaughtering, rape and all kinds of atrocities and Islam is against that.''

When sighted an Intelligence Bureau report that ISIS is gaining roots in Kashmir, she said, ''till the time there is Dastgeer Sahib shrine, temples and gurudwaras in Kashmir, the valley was safe.''

Further stressing on her point, she said that the people of various communities lived in Kashmir, and in there that real Islam existed, and it was this islam that Muslims in the country followed.

On the issue of resettlement and safety of Kashmiri Pandits in the valley, she said the process (of resettlement) had already begun and there was no threat to them in Kashmir.
