Agartala: Biting the success drum of the Narendra Modi led government, Union Minister for Science & Technology, Environment, Forest and Climate Change Dr Harshvardhan said about 1000 top Indian scientists had been working in other countries came back in past three years with the enhancement of research environment and facilities. Addressing the media he stated after the Modi led government assumed office India has witnessed a remarkable achievement in science and technology while space research, meteorological research and innovation related to earth science has got a boost and now India is able to compare with any develop country. “Most of the Indian scientists had to engage for research activities outside the country because of inadequate facilities. But now situation has changed not only scientists and technocrats are coming back to India, the initiative of the government has encouraged in research and education,” he stated. He said ministry is all set to launch a new project for Kendriya Vidyalaya students to demonstrate the technology for mankind and initially about 75,000 students will be taken to laboratories to see them and added, “The brain drain has been turned into brain gain in the country.” The country has only 356 km Optical Fibre Cable Network in 2014 but now it has grown up to 1.75 lakh km, which is a key achievement in digital India initiative of the present government, he added.
