IAF prepared to take up any threat: Air Chief

Hindon (Ghaziabad)/ New Delhi:  chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha today asserted that the IAF was ready to take up any threat in the most befitting manner. Addressing air warriors on the occasion of the 84th Air Force day, the Air Chief said, "We continue to train to take up any threat and are fully prepared to undertake any challenge in most befitting manner." The assertion on part of Air Chief Marshal Raha comes in the backdrop of terror attacks on the Pathankot airbase and the Uri army base. Indian Army responded with surgical strikes across the LoC to avenge these attacks. Taking about the Pathankot terror attack he said the incident was stark reminder of the time "we live in". Earlier, the IAF Chief conferred the gallantry medals to the air warriors for their exceptional duties. Army Chief Gen Dalbir Singh Suhag and Navy Chief Admiral Sunil Lanba along with senior armed forces' officers were present to commemorate the day. Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, who was conferred the honorary rank of Group Captain, was also present on the occasion.
