Former HC judge's car windscreen smashed by bullet: Police says it could be unintentional

 Lucknow : Lucknow police went tizzy when a bullet ripped the windscreen of a former High court judge's car near the residence of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav in the state capital. A high level probe has been ordered by the police and preliminary investigation suggests that yesterday's incident could be 'unintentional'. The incident happened near the Golf Club, near the CM and other VVIP residences when Justice( Retired) U K Dhaon was on his way to Amausi Airport at around 1630 hours. The judge's car was taking an alternative route due to CM's movement when the bullet ripped the windscreen and hit the front seat beside the driver in front of the tennis court. Justice Dhaon, later told media that they have not seen anyone hence could not say anything about the matter. Later, the former HC Judge, who is presently the member of the state Human Rights Commission, left the car and went to the airport on another vehicle. Deputy Inspector General Of Police(DIG) Lucknow range, R K S Rathore told UNI here today that police was investigating the matter but preleminary probe suggests that the firing was unintentional. An FIR has been registered against unidentified person while police have questioned several people present on the stretch whether someone with gun had been spotted. Ballistic experts and director of Mahanagar-based forensic science laboratory also investigated the spot and bullet shell was handed over to them. Mr Rathore said that the bullet was fired from a rifle. "The bore of the firearm used is still not clear and we are seeking experts' opinion besides the incident was being reconstructed by the investigating team," Mr Rathore added.
