Lucknow : Competition between political parties in Uttar Pradesh is gaining momentum with now parties are fighting to claim for the 'number one' party in the assembly elections slated to be held next year. Chief minister Akhilesh Yadav today claimed that Samajwadi Party will be the number one party after the 2017 assembly polls. He made this claim at Kaushambi during an official function. Mr Yadav's claim came after BJP president Amit Shah during the second anniversary of the Narendra Modi government announced that his party would be 'number one' in UP polls with getting full majority to form the next government. However, BSP general secretary Satish Chandra Misra too today claimed that Mayawati would be the lone gainer in the UP polls and even went to the extent of saying that BJP and SP would be fighting for the third and fourth spot in the UP polls. Meanwhile, UP BJP spokesperson Vijay Bahadur Pathak said BSP and SP are afraid of the growing popularity of the BJP hence they are now just trying to confuse people. "The SP and BSP have already lost the game in UP and now claiming for top position shows their frustration," he said.
