Guwahati,: Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama is arriving in Guwahati today, starting his 12-day visit to North East during which he will visit Dibrugarh (Assam) and Tawang, Bomdila and Itanagar (all in Arunachal Pradesh), among other places. The Nobel Peace laureate will commence his NE visit by delivering a speech on 'A humane approach to world peace' at the concluding ceremony of platinum jubilee celebration of 'The Assam Tribune' and golden jubilee of 'Dainik Asom' newspapers of the Tribune group of publications here today. On the second day of his stay at Guwahati, the Dalai Lama will release an Assamese translation of his first autobiography 'My land and my people' and deliver a public lecture on 'Ancient Indian knowledge in modern times'. The programme has been organised by the Krishna Kanta Handique State Open University and city-based publication house Lawyer's Book Stall. He will also attend an open session at the ongoing Namami Brahmaputra festival in the city the same day. He is scheduled to deliver another lecture at Dibrugarh on April 3 before proceeding to Arunachal Pradesh. The Dalai Lama is scheduled to conclude his NE visit at Itanagar on April 12 next, after addressing several religious and other congregations in the state.
