According to officials here, the Bodh Gaya police in Bihar have registered the case on the complaint of one Anil Kumar resident of Una road Hoshiarpur, yesterday. Mr Kumar had complained to the police that the BA degree of the Amritsar DCP, which he had acquired from the university in Gaya, was fake. A vigilance inquiry was also made in 1998 against Singh for having been recruited in the police on fake certificate. But the then vice chancellor of the university had issued a clean chit to Singh. Police Commissioner Jatinder Singh Aulakh said an official action would be taken against the erring police official after receiving documents from the university. Singh, meanwhile, has gone on long leave. Case under various sections of IPC against Gandhi, vice chancellor of the university and two other officials of the university has been on registered.
