Hubballi:  Hundreds of Congress workers picketed in front of Lok Sabha BJP member Prahalad Joshi house demanding total waiver of agriculture loan from the Union Government. They came in a procession shouting slogans against Union Government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging exonerate the farmers from paying back their loans as they have been put to loss due to vagaries of monsoon and drought for more than three years. Police prevented the agitators from entering the house. Mr Joshi came out of his residence and accepted the memorandum from the protesters. He said that he would appraise the plight of the farmers to the concerned Union Minister as well as the Prime Minister. But before his effort for wavier of loan, he wanted the State Government to withdraw all pre-conditions for waiver of loan. Apart from that the loan waiver is not merely limited to one state. It relates to all the 29 states. Prime Minister has to take this fact into consideration. However, he would put his effort to see that loans are waived as far as possible. Not satisfied with his answer, the activists of Congress again shouted slogans and the protest ended under police security. Police had hard time to convince them.
