Congress workers, leaders throng Ramabai ground to attend the interaction session with Rahul Gandhi

Lucknow : Thousands of Congress workers and leaders have thronged the Ramabai Ambedkar ground here since this morning to attend the interaction session with party vice-president Rahul Gandhi today. Though there is all possibility of rains, but enthusiasm of the Congress workers is to be seen and they have queue in lines to obtain entry passes for the programme. Congress workers from all parts of the state, had started reaching state capital since yesterday and by this morning the number had swelled to over 60,000. Mr Gandhi is expected to reach here by 1445 hours and would start his interaction with the workers within next 15 minutes which will continue till 1830 hours. Mr Gandhi is likely to take up around 50 questions from the party workers and would walk through the ramps to reach them and give reply. However, the Congress vice president too was enthused to attend the programme.

In his tweet this morning Mr Gandhi said," Looking forward to being in Lucknow today to meet karyakartas. See you all at the Ramabai Ambedkar Ground!". In another tweet this afternoon it said," At 12:00 Noon, 40 Thousand Registrations done; and counting. In next tweet with a photo showing crowded registration counters it said," Registration desks up and about . Shoulder to Shoulder." Congress chief minister Face Sheila Dikshit was also not too behind and in her tweet she said,"There is a sense of enthusiasm in Lucknow. Look forward to meeting Congress workers who are the backbone of the party." UP Congress president Raj Babbar along with other senior leaders are at the spot since early morning and were monitoring the arrangements including issueing of passes and distribution of food and water.
