UP: Rail traffic disrupted as track breaks in Etawah

Etawah, Rail traffic was disrupted at the Delhi-Howrah rail route for about 32 minutes when the rail track near Bharthana railway station broke down in this district of Uttar Pradesh on Monday. Bharthana's station master Vishnu Pratap here said that the key-man was conducting a regular inspection of the rail tracks at around 0540 hrs when the track was found broken between pole number 1136-18 and 20 on the eastern side of the Bharthana railway station. Information regarding the same was given to the officials while station master flashed a 'red signal' to a speeding, non-stop goods train through porter Rakesh. The driver of the goods train stopped it by applying emergency brakes while other trains coming from behind were also stopped. Upon receiving information, the technical team reached the spot and started the repair work. The train traffic was then resumed after about 32 minutes when the repair work was completed. On the other hand, railways put a caution of 30 minutes per hour while passing trains from the route.
