Cong forces Speaker to accept demand for discussion on explosive recovery from Assembly

Lucknow: The Congress members today created ruckus in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly over the recovery of explosives in the House on July 12 and forced Speaker Hridya Narain Dikshit to accept their demand for a discussion on the issue after a meeting of party leaders. As the House assembled for the day, Congress legislature party leader Ajay Kumar Lalu raised the matter of recovery of explosives from the house and demanded that a discussion should be held but the Speaker rejected his notice. However, four members of the Congress led by its leader trouped in the well of the house due to which the chair got annoyed and termed it as "an act of indiscipline". Mr Dikshit even said the Congress are acting undemocratic by coming in the well of the house. However, leader of the opposition Ram Govind Choudhury, coming in support of the Congress, members too demanded that a discussion on the issue should be done as the government was keeping all the information to itself. "The members have all the right to know about the incident as it is directly related to their security," Mr Choudhury said. He also supported the Congress member's protest in the well of the House. BSP leader Lalji Verma too supported the Congress members.
