Jammu, : The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway continues to remain closed for the fourth consecutive day on Thuirsday. More than 2,000 vehicles are stranded, including at Ramban, Udhampur and Nagrota.
Meanwhile, authorities have issued avalanche warnings for next 24 hours in the hills of Jammu and Kashmir. There are high-danger avalanche warnings for avalanche-prone areas in Baramulla district and medium-danger avalanche warning for Kupwara and Bandipora districts.
Fresh landslide at Kheri Udhampur and Battery Chashma Marog in Ramban blocked the highway The highway in Udhampur was cleared but it again blocked in Ramban on Wednesda evening.
The men and machinery are on the job of removing the debris from the highway and it is expected that the road would be cleared soon.
A low-danger avalanche warning was issued for Anantnag, Ramban, Ganderbal, Kargil and Leh districts. People in the avalanche-prone areas have been advised not to venture out.
