Another batch of 1,180 pilgrims leave Jammu for Amarnath cave shrine


Jammu: A fresh batch of 1180 Shri Amarnath pilgrims today left from Yatri Niwas base camp here amid 'bam bam bhole' chants for the holy cave shrine in South Kashmir. The pilgrims left in a cavalcade of 43 vehicles. The yatris were comprised of 787 male, 243 females and 150 sadhus. Pilgrims left for Pahalgam and Baltal to perform the pilgrimage in 43 vehicles, including 22 buses and 21 light motor vehicles. ''The Yatra is smoothly heading on the highway," a police official here said.
