Nagaland ex-CM Shurhozelie blames Governor for illegally dismisses him

Kohima: Former Nagaland Chief Minister Dr Shurhozelie Liezietsu has charged Governor P B Acharya with 'illegally' dismissing his Government without proper Constitutional procedures. Addressing press here last night, he said, ' It was executed with ulterior political motive and the people of Nagaland will justify it in time. ' Dr Shurhozelie said, ' I have no regret for my dismissal. I have become a victim of politics. ' He alleged that the Governor had turned the Raj Bhavan into a BJP office and the main reason behind his dismissal was to establish a BJP Government in Nagaland in the coming Assembly election next year. Dr Shurhozeliee also alleged that what the Governor justified about his dismissal were tall lies that he was given sufficient time to prove his majority in the floor of the Assembly. He said on July 16 last he received a letter from the Governor to convene a Special Assembly Session next day to prove his majority in the floor of the House for which he gave a reply letter to the Governor that it was not possible as most of his supporter Legislators were out of station. Dr Shurhozelie claimed that eleven of his Ministers were still with him and he was taking up reconciliation process among the dissident NPF Legislators before his dismissal.
