NEET row : DMK to organise Human Chain agitation on July 27

Chennai: The Principal Opposition DMK will organise a human chain agitation across the State on July 27 demanding the Centre to get the Presidential sanction for the two Bills passed in the State Assembly exempting Tamil Nadu from NEET. A resolution to this effect was adopted at a meeting of the District Secretaries of the Party, chaired by DMK Working President and Leader of the Opposition M K Stalin. The resolution launched a scathing attack on the Centre for shirking its responsibility and not respecting the state's democracy by not sending the two Bills to the President for his assent. Charging the BJP-led NDA of playing a 'merciless' and 'dangerous game' on the future of the students on the NEET issue, the resolution to condemn the State and the Central governments and to press for exempting Tamil Nadu from NEET by getting the Presidential assent, the DMK would organise a massive human chain agitation in all district headquarters of the State. It also appealed to all the political parties, social organisations and student community to participate in large numbers, reflecting the sentiments of the entire state on the issue.
