Mehbooba needs to explain Chinas role in Kashmir situation: Abdullah

Srinagar: Main Opposition National Conference working president Omar Abdullah said Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti need to explain the involvement of China in worsening security situation in the Kashmir valley. However, he said during his six year term as Chief Minister of the state, he was never given any intelligence reports about Chinese meddling in Kashmir other than of occasional incursion in parts of Ladakh region in the state. Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Mr Abdullah said, ''@MehboobaMufti needs to explain the nature of Chinese involvement in the worsening security environment in J&K, especially in the Valley.'' He further said, ''In 6 yrs as CM I was never given any intelligence reports of Chinese meddling in J&K other than of occasional incursions in parts of Ladakh.'' Reacting to a tweet that after Ms Mufti, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee too raised China's meddling, the former J&K chief minister, Mr Abdullah said, ''Two Chief Ministers have talked about Chinese meddling. Parliament needs to discuss this interference & the Govt should address concerns.'' Ms Mufti after meeting Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh at New Delhi on July 15 had said unfortunately China has also started ''interfering" in matters pertaining to Jammu and Kashmir.
