Tejaswi should resign to play a long innings in politics: BJP

Patna: Amid stand-off between RJD and JD (U) over the issue of resignation of Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Yadav, Bihar BJP today suggested Mr Yadav to resign from his post himself in wake of registration of an FIR by CBI if he wanted to play a long innings in politics. Former Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi told newspersons here that Mr Yadav by emerging out from the shadow of his father and RJD Chief Lalu Prasad should resign from his post and should not occupy any position in government until he was exonerated in the land for railway hotels case. "Mr Yadav should admit in pubic that he had signed documents related to various companies on the direction of his father Mr Prasad as he was not aware of its consequences," Mr Modi remarked. Mr Modi said that Mr Yadav should also declare that he would return all land plots and buildings which he had received as gifts. He said that Mr Prasad was solely responsible for dragging his son Mr Yadav into the quagmire of corruption. The BJP leader said that Mr Yadav instead of following his father`s direction should resign from his post as former JD (U) president Sharad Yadav had done by resigning from Lok Sabha when his name had figured in Havala scam.
