5 hardcore Naxals arrested in Chhattisgarhs Sukma district

Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh: Five hardcore Naxals – who were allegedly involved in several cases of murder, IED blasts and attack on security personnel – were arrested in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district, police said today. "The ultras were rounded up yesterday during a joint search operation launched by the police force in insurgency-affected in Kukanar and Tongpal areas," said Sukma Superintendent of Police Abhishek Meena. The Maoists, who identified themselves as Ramesh Nag, Madvi Kosa, Kawasi Bhima, Kunjami Handa and Hinga Madkam during interrogation, had confessed to their involvement in several incidents of Naxal violence in the district.
