Nitish should decide on Tejashwi Yadav quickly, says Paswan

New Delhi: Union Food Minister and LJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan today said the political situation in Bihar has made it imperative that Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav has to resign and counselled state Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to hurry up the exercise. "The delay in getting this (resignation of RJD leader) done can harm Janata Dal (United) as RJD leadership is capable of causing a split in Nitish Kumar's party," Mr Paswan said, addressing a meeting of the youth wing of the party here. At the meeting, a resolution passed by the LJP youth wing also demanded that there should be scope of reservation for Dalits in the private sector. The party meeting was also attended by senior party leader Abdul Khaliq and Mr Paswan's parliamentarian son Chirag Paswan. The political crisis in the JD(U)-RJD-Congress alliance in Bihar was triggered following corruption charges against RJD chief Lalu Prasad and his younger son, Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, in an alleged land-for-hotels scam. Much conscious about his image and also due to the fact that Nitish Kumar himself has stormed to power in the state in November 2005, the JD(U) chief now wants Tejashwi to step down. The demand has been ruled out by the RJD and making it obvious that now pressure has mounted on Mr Nitish Kumar to act against the RJD leader sooner than later.
