Reach out to every family to understand them: Tripura CM to BJP functionaries

Agartala, The BJP Tripura state president and Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has asked his party workers to reach out to every family during the ongoing membership drive and interact with the people to understand their problems and grievances. Addressing the party functionaries here, Deb stated that the BJP-IPFT government in the last 15 months had implemented all the developmental programmes of the central government, which brought a meaningful change among the people of Tripura. "We have many more things to do and the government is committed to implementing all other schemes and programmes for betterment of the state. The 25-year Left Front rule has made public life horrible and now people aspire to get the fruits of every good thing overnight but we shall make people understand the situation," Deb told his cadres. He, however, pointed out that his government has been working with good intention and every action of the government is persuaded for welfare of the people.

The government took over charge with huge financial liabilities and there was complete brake down of administration but over last few months they have been able to manage the finance and bring change in the governance, he claimed. Talking about the ensuing panchayat elections, the chief minister directed the party candidates to go for door to door campaign even if there is no contest and added, "This is an opportunity for us to get the peoples reaction over the performance and functioning of the government." As per State Election Commission (SEC) record, BJP has already won over 5,500 of the 6,646 seats unopposed in the three-tier rural body polls, which counts 83 per cent of the total. The commission will hold election for 850 gram panchayat, 85 panchayat samiti and 80 zilla parishad seats seats on July 27 next. The BJP has set a target of registering 5 lakh members in the ongoing membership drive and decided to appoint Bistarak (propagators) in each of the 591 Panchayats of the state for assessing the ground and understand the public mind. "As the party won a huge number of seats unopposed, membership drive is important for the party. We have devised a constant monitoring mechanism and to appoint Bistaraks for each of the panchayats for better monitoring of all the party activities exactly as we did during 2018 assembly elections," said Party's General Secretary Rajiv Bhattacharjee. All the party leaders starting from Mandol to state including MLAs and other elected representatives have been entrusted with separate panchayats to get monitored by them, he said and added the Bistaraks would have to participate Jana Samparka Abhiyan in their respective areas. They will also act as a connecting rope between the party's state leaderships and the locals,he stated.
