Prime Minister Narendra Modi to arrive tomorrow; to launch a slew of schemes and projects

Ranchi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be arriving in the state tomorrow in Jharkahnd to launch a slew of schemes and projects just before the assembly elections are declared in the state. During his almost two hour stay in the capital, he will lay foundation stones, inaugurate and launch five schemes and projects and address the people at the Prabhat Tara Grounds. More than one lakh people especially the farmers are expected to participate in the event at the venue. The Prime Minister will be reaching Ranchi around 1130hrs and go straight to the Vidhan Sabha premises where he will tour the newly constructed building and interact with the MLAs in the central hall of the Vidhan Sabha. There, he will also launch a special stamp to mark the special day. The new Vidhan Sabha building, constructed at a cost of Rs 465 crore, is spread across 39 acres and is equipped with all modern facilities. From the Vidhan Sabha he will reach the Prabhat Tara grounds and participate in the main function.

The Prime Minister will be launching the Kissan Mandhan Yojana in the presence of the farmers by sending an SMS. Under the Mandhan Yojana, small and marginalised farmers aged over 60 will get Rs 3000 as monthly pension. Farmers in the age group of 18-40 years can become member of the scheme by registering themselves and paying the premium for the scheme. He will also launch the pension scheme for the small shopkeepers and self employed under which people in the age group of 18-40 years will be registered. The beneficiaries will be provided a pension of Rs 3,000 per month after they turn 60. The Prime Minister will lay the foundation for 462 Ekalvya Model schools in the country via online mode. These schools will be set up in blocks which have at least 20,000 tribal population. A total of 480 students will be taught in each school from classes 6 to 12. On each student a sum of Rs 1.09 lakh will be spent. In Jharkahnd, the school will be opened in 69 blocks. A target of opening at least 23 schools before March 2020 has been set. Land for the schools has been provided and a sum of Rs 524 crore has been sanctioned. The Prime Minister will be also inaugurating the multi-model terminal built in Sahebganj and interact with people through online mode. The project has been completed at a cost of Rs 299.10 crore and is linked with rail and road route. Every year, 1.07 million tonnes of stone chips and 1 million tonnes of coal will be transported from the port. At least 2500 people are expected to get employment in this project. After the new Vidhan Sabha, the state will also get its new secretariat equipped with all modern facilities.The Prime Minister will be laying the foundation of the building which will be made in the East and West Block. A sum of Rs 1566.69 crore has been approved and the building will be constructed in an area of 23 lakh 60,000 square feet.
