PM Visit: 8 IPS, 54 DSPs and more than 6000 police jawans to look after security arrangements

Ranchi, Security arrangements have been increased in the state especially in the capital for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit on September 12. A total of 8 IPS and 54 DSP rank officials have been deployed to look after Prime Minister's security, with Ranchi SSP Anish Gupta in the lead. To ensure full proof security 123 inspectors, 656 sub-inspectors and 6,000 police jawans have been deployed. Special vigil was kept on vehicles passing through the prominent spots of the city and suspicious person were inspected. Patrolling at the airport has also been increased. Jawans will be deployed at all the highrises. The SSP has instructed the different police stations to be in touch with each other. An SPG team has already reached the city and taken over the complete security of the venue, especially the D area where no one is being allowed to enter. The Prime Minister will reach the Ranchi airport tomorrow at 1130 hrs from where he will be travelling to the venue through road. Movement of vehicles on the road leading from the airport to the venue will be stopped two hours before the Prime Minister's arrival. Traffic movement will be eased only after PM's departure. Roadside stalls and hawkers along the stretch leading from the airport to the venue will also be removed on the day.
