Mr Yeddyurappa confident of winning majority, promises to waiver of Crop loan upto Rs One lakh

Bengaluru: The newly sworn in Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa on Thursday expressed confidence that he would secure the required majority on the floor of the State Assembly. Addressing his maiden press conference after swearing in as Chief Minister, Mr Yeddyurappa said he would seek vote of confidence earlier than the 15 day deadline set by Governor Vajubhai Vala. Though the BJP had secured only 104 seats he hoped that all the 222 legislators would vote as per their conscience and ensure the party's victory. He declined to comment further on the numerical strength stating that the issue was now before the Supreme Court.
