Bengaluru, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was 'humble' in saying that the Siddaramaiah-led Congress ministry in Karnataka is "ten per cent commission government", said BJP sitting legislator and candidate for Yelahanka constituency S R Vishwanath.
"I will say Prime Minister was only being humble. It's not ten per cent commission government. The dispensation run by Siddaramaiah is 40 per cent commission government. In fact, I have reports many Congress people were upset when Prime Minister ten per cent. This is not our standard, they said," Mr Vishwanath told UNI here.
He said in terms of governance in last five years under Congress rule, the people of Bengaluru actually "got nothing".
"In terms of civic amenities, there was zero, we got nothing. Yelahanka had developed during BJP government from 2008,
but once they came to power, the Congress sabotaged development in my areas," he said.
Answering questions, Mr Vishwanath dismissed the opposition parties' allegation that the saffron Party is anti Dalit.
He also cited the example of Ram Nath Kovind and said a Dalit leader has been made the President of the country.
Charging other political parties with using Dr B R Ambedkar's name only for 'vote bank politics', he alleged "The Opposition parties only do only lip service and do nothing for the welfare of Dalits and other deprived sections of people".
He claimed ever since he became an MLA in the year 2008 as elected representative he has worked "tirelessly" towards the uplift of all sections of people launched many welfare oriented schemes for SC/ST communities and also Christians.
"The Congress especially in last 60 years has been dividing the people and garnering votes; whereas BJP is the first party that gave respect to B R Ambedkar," he said.
Mr Vishwanath also said, "The BJP in the constituency enjoys the support of Christians and some sections of Muslims too, otherwise my victory would not have been easier".
He also said as part of commitment BJP has established a housing colony for slum dwellers in the locality that will help overwhelming number of Dalits and Christians. "Majority of Christians in this area are with the BJP," he claimed.
