Union MoS Rijiju asks people not to mix religion with politics

Kohima, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju has made a fervent appeal to the people not to mix politics with religion, as politics was for the fulfillment of human physical wants and needs such as developmental activities, while religion was for the inner peace of one's soul and mind.
Speaking at a function organised to kick start the BJP-Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) alliance election campaign at Mon Town Council Hall yesterday, Rijiju alleged that the Congress realising that they are losing ground and finding no faults to accuse the BJP with, had begun to defame the BJP as 'Anti-Christians.' However, he further alleged, it was during the Congress regime, when Christians were persecuted the most.
