Cong ignores terrorism, brings up only communal, casteist issues to disrupt Parliament: BJP

New Delhi:The BJP today charged Congress with deliberately trying to bring in "communal and casteist" issues in the forefront for debate in Parliament and the opposition party's stand is only to disturb the smooth functioning of Parliament during the on-going monsoon session. "They have brought up a 32-page dossier only to disrupt the Parliament proceedings," the BJP spokesman Sambit Patra alleged. "Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said that all parties should come together..... he gave the example of GST.... and said it should mean 'Growing Strong Together'. But Congress is trying to bring all issues which are either communal or casteist," Mr Patra told reporters here. He said the Congress party has grown "demoralised and frustrated" as they have been losing polls after polls since 2014. Mr Patra said he is not questioning the "democratic right" of the Congress party to raise its own political issues, but the manner they brought the issues or plan to bring up the issues shows their mala fide intent. "The real stories of conspiracy lie in the prioritization of the issues," Mr Patra said. He said if common people are asked, what should be the top priority issue to be discussed in Parliament, they would say - "terrorism". "....but the Congress has listed out issues in the manner that first five or six issues they want to raise are only the issues - either communal or casteist in nature....This can somehow be seen as ploys to divide India," he said. "The Congress party's strategic team has tried to build up their argument on the lynching and cow protection issues....This is a dossier of disruption (of Parliament proceedings).
