LS adjourned for day after obit references, House condemns attack on Amarnath pilgrims

New Delhi: The Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day on the first day of the Monsoon session of Parliament after paying tribute to one sitting member - Vinod Khanna and former Union Minister Anil Madhav Dave and four former members. The House also condemned the terror attack on Amarnath pilgrims on July 10 with Speaker Sumitra Mahajan stating that it was an "act of cowardice". The Speaker made obituary references in respect of sitting Lok Sabha MP Vinod Khanna and others including former members Subedar Prasad Singh, Ajit Kumar Saha, Era Sezhiyan and Narain Singh Chaudhri. The House also paid tributes to former Union Minister Dave, who died on May 18, 2017.
