All arrangements put in place for voting in Presidential polls tomorrow

Hyderabad: All arrangements have been completed at the Telangana Assembly complex to enable the members of the electoral college (MPs and MLAs) to cast their votes to elect the country's next President, tomorrow. Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwar Lal had reviewed the arrangements in the committee hall No. One at the Assembly complex where the voting will take place between 1000 and 1700 hours, with the Legislature Secretariat staff. In all, there are 119 MLAs and a nominated MLA (who has no voting right as per rules) in Telangana beside 17 Lok Sabha and seven Rajya Sabha members from the state. The party wise strength in the Assembly is the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti (90), Congress (13), Majlis -e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) seven,TDP three and CPI (M) one. Of the 17 Lok sabha members, 11 belong to TRS, two Congress and one each to TDP, BJP, MIM and YSR Congress. The counting of votes polled in tomorrow's presidential poll will be taken up on July 20. The ruling TRS had already announced its support to the NDA's Presidential candidate Ramnath Kovind. Meanwhile, the MIM, according media reports, is most likely to support United Progressive Alliance's nominee Meira Kumar in the Presidential polls.
