CBI and ED summon Bengal minister Subrata Mukherjee and TMC MP Kakali Ghosh Dastidar in Narada scam

Kolkata: The two central investigating agencies - CBI and ED - have summoned West Bengal Panchayat minister Subrata Mukherjee and ruling Trinamool Congress Lok Sabha member Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar respectively in relations to ongoing Naradanews sting scam of 2014. Meanwhile, another TMC MP Sultan Ahmed was now being interrogated by the officials of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) at CGO complex in Salt Lake in the same case. Mr Ahmed was quiz by the CBI on July 3 Sources said the CBI on Wednesday summoned TMC's senior most leader and panchayat minister Subrata Mukherjee asking him to appear today. But an advocate on behalf of Mr Mukherjee told the CBI that his client would appear after July 21. The ED also investigating the money trails of Naradanews sting operations, which came to light just before state assembly polls in April-May 2016, also summoned TMC MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar to appear early next week. Sources said after several abortive attempts to contact her on phone, the CBI mailed a copy of summon notice directing her to depose early next week. The CBI investigating the Narada sting operation scam following a Supreme court order had filed an FIR naming 12 TMC leaders and one IPS officer, accused of being benefited with wads notes from their unknown sources.
