HM Amit Shah to be chief guest on Yoga Day state level function in Rohtak on Jun 21: Khattar

Chandigarh, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Thursday said the state level function of International Yoga Day-2019 would be organised in Rohtak on June 21, in which Union Home Minister Amit Shah would be the Chief Guest. Stating this while interacting with all the Deputy Commissioners of the state through video conferencing here, the Chief Minister said as many as 21,000 people are expected to participate in the programme. Ayush department has made all necessary arrangements for this event, he added. Mr Khattar asked the DCs to make necessary arrangement for organising Yoga Day functions at district and sub-division level in a befitting manner.

He said that as Yoga has become a centre of attraction for the people, participation of people of all walks of life including employees, police personnel, home guards students of senior secondary schools and colleges should be ensured in the programmes. Apart from this, people practicing Yoga in the parks should also be invited to participate in the events. The Patanjali Yog Peeth has already consented to participate in functions to be organized throughout the state that day, he added.
