PM Modi addresses 3 election meetings in Bhojpuri belt

Patna, : To woo the electorate of Bhojpuri speaking belt of Shahabad and Balia, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed three public meetings. He started the day with a public meeting at Balia in Uttar Pradesh, a predominantly Bhojpuri speaking area adjoining Bihar. Balia was the constituency which elected the former Prime Minister Chandrashekhar and was the birth place of Jayaprakash Narayan.

He addressed another meeting at Ahrouli in Buxar district of Bihar, which too is a part of old Shahabad division of Bihar. The union minister of state for health Ashwini Kumar Chaubey is the BJP candidate. R K Singh, another union minister, representing neighbouring Ara was also present.

His third public meeting took place at Sasaram, yet another Bhojpuri speaking area of Bihar. The sitting BJP MP, Chhedi Paswan is pitted against the former speaker of Lok Sabha, Meira Kumar, who is Congress candidate.

On Wednesday, Modi will reach Paliganj, 50 kms from Patna to seek votes for the sitting party nominee and another union minister, Ramkripal Yadav. Paliganj is a strong belt of upper castes Bhumihars in Magadh region, where Magahi dialect is popular.
