BJP unites nation, Congress divides: Shah

Sangli (Maharashtra), Bharatiya Janata Party national president Amit Shah here on Wednesday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is making all out efforts to keep the nation's border secure, while Congress is trying to separate Jammu and Kashmir from the country by demanding another prime minister for the state. Addressing an election rally in Tasgaon tehsil of this district, Mr Shah said J&K is the integral part of the country and will strongly oppose separate PM demand.

Mr Shah was here to fetch votes for BJP candidate Sanjaykaka Patil. Attacking Congress-Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) alliance which the ruled the state for 15 years, Mr Shah asked about the money in the alleged irrigation scam from 1999-2009 during the ministership of Ajit Pawar. Highlighting his party's achievements, Mr Shah said, "The BJP-led government in the state as well as in centre has announced various schemes for the farmers, people, waived a total loan of 35 lakh farmers and implemented GST tax system in the country." The government also implemented the decision of ten percent reservation for economically backwards in the unreserved category, he added. "We would repeat the success of 2014 and Mr Modi would become the prime minister again," Mr Shah asserted.
