Shah denies BJP behind over issuing arrest warrant to Naidu

: Bharatiya Janata Party National President Amit Shah on Saturday denied that the party was behind over the issuance of a non-bailable arrest warrant to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu by a Maharashtra Court in connection with the construction of the Babli barrage across the river Godavari. Addressing a news conference at the BJP's Telangana unit office here, Mr.Shah said that such allegations were made to gain people's sympathy during election times. He said that at the time of filing the case on the issue, the Congress was in power both at the Centre and in Maharashtra.

It may be mentioned that the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), in the wake of NBW to Mr Naidu, had accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Mr Shah of indulging in 'politics of vendetta'. A court in Dharmabad in Maharashtra, it may be mentioned, had issued two days ago a non-bailable arrest warrant to TDP Supremo Chandrababu Naidu in connection with the agitation against Babli barrage across the river Godavari in 2010 when he was the leader of the Opposition in the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh.
