Delhi govt demands probe in Metro fare hike

New Delhi, The Delhi government today demanded a probe into the recent fare hike of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, alleging that the BJP-led Centre had committed huge irregularities in the DMRC.
Addressing a press conference here, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and Rural Development Minister Gopal Rai said, ''The Delhi government shares 50 per cent equity with the Central government in DMRC. We were told that since the DMRC was incurring huge losses, Metro fares had to be increased. ''When we asked for a probe into the losses, suspecting irregularities, the BJP government shot a letter to the DMRC, rejecting the suggestion.
