Students murder: SIT finds security lapses; Ryan CEO appeals for wait till probe is complete

New Delhi/Gurugram: Amid mounting anger against Gurugram branch of the Ryan International school over the murder of its seven-year-old student on Friday, the Group's CEO Ryan Pinto today appealed to all parties concerned not to hold the school guilty of crime till investigations into the case were complete. His appeal came on a day the three-member SIT in its report is said to have found various holes in the security in the school, including employing staff, without police verification and use of same toilet by both students and the staff. The parents of the school students are demanding a CBI probe into the matter and cancellation of school licence. 'As the investigations are ongoing, we request all parties concerned to refrain from holding Ryan School culpable of a crime where it is itself a victim of unfortunate circumstances,' Mr Pinto said in a statement issued here tonight. Earlier in the day, guardians of school children and nearby local residents in Gurugram held protest in front of Ryan International building and set afire shops in the area in protest against the brutal murder of the second standard student in a toilet in school premises, allegedly by the school bus conductor, leading to Police lathi-charge. The Ryan International Group of Institutions in its statement said that they 'will not succumb to all the various false allegations being made nor will we fuel the various controversies being spread. we should not unjustly be blamed or branded as the perpetrators.' 'The investigation report should be out soon and all parties concerned need to wait until then. We request the public to refrain from turning violent and to let the police do their work,' Mr Pinto said. 'It is understandable that everyone is seeking answers. So we are cooperating to our fullest with the police investigations,' he said. While expressing 'shock and horror' that the crime occurred despite various security protocols, he sought to assure all the parents across the country that the safety of all students was their priority and Ryan School takes all efforts to ensure the security of its students.
