LG inspects progress of construction work of grade separator

New Delhi: Delhi Lt Governor Anil Baijal inspected the progress of construction work of grade separator at Rani Jhansi road here this morning. During the visit, Mr Baijal observed that a number of old and unused vehicles have been parked around the site and directed North MCD and Delhi Police to remove all the unauthorisedly parked vehicles from the site at the earliest. He further instructed that it should be ensured that no garbage was thrown at the under-construction site and cleanliness was maintained. The LG emphasised that it is a major project of North Delhi and commissioning of this flyover would benefit commuters of Delhi. He also instructed all the agencies to put their best foot forward in this final phase of construction works. Later, Mr Baijal chaired a meeting with all stakeholders to assess the present progress and status of the work at the project site office at DCM Chowk.
During the meeting, Commissioner of North DMC apprised the LG that issues which were hindering the project till now, have been resolved. The LG instructed the Commissioner to undertake the landscaping and beautification of the space under flyovers simultaneously. He also asked to focus upon the possibility of multi-level stack parking near the flyover to resolve the perennial need of adequate parking spaces and to ensure that areas which have been recovered from encroachment are not re-encroached at any cost. This is the fourth site inspection by him. The LG was accompanied by Raajiv Yaduvanshi, Principal Secretary (Urban Development), GNCTD, Madhup Vyas, Commissioner, North DMC, Keshav Chandra, CEO (DJB), Railway authorities and officers concerned from other agencies.
