After dry spell for a week, moderate to heavy showers hit Delhi

New Delhi: After a dry spell of nearly a week, the capital city of Delhi was today hit by a short spell of moderate to heavy showers, bringing relief to people of the city from the humid weather of the past week. The showers, which hit Delhi this afternoon, brought down the Mercury in the capital and brought relief from sultry weather of the past few days. Earlier, Delhiites woke up to another humid morning with minimum temperature settling at 29.1 degrees Celsius, a few notches above the normal for the season. More spells of rain are expected during the day. The weather office has forecast a generally cloudy sky in Delhi in the next 24 hours with light spells of rain in a few areas. The maximum temperature for the day is expected to hover around 33 degrees C, the Met official informed.
