Kejriwal launches RTI online portal

New Delhi: In a bid to make filing of RTI more easier, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today launched an online portal here at the Secretariat. Speaking at the launch programme, Mr Kejriwal said, "people of the country pay tax. With that tax money the Government is run. So, they have the right to know where their money is being used." "Somebody was asking, will the Minister come under its purview? I want to say that Chief Minister will also come under it," he asserted. Talking to reporters later, Mr Kejriwal said, "earlier people faced problems in filing RTI application. Now, one need not require to go to any Departments of the State government for seeking information. By sitting at home one can file RTI online. Then, their application along with answers will be uploaded in the portal." "We will try to upload as much information as we can. This will also control corruption as it will create fear among those in the system if they do anything wrong, they might be caught," the Chief Minister stated.
