CPI-M blames BJP-RSS for plans to disrupt Sabarimala pilgrimage on Dec 13

New Delhi: The CPI(M) on Wednesday warned devotees of Sabarimala temple against planned efforts reportedly by the BJP and RSS to disrupt the pilgrimage and asked the people to be vigilant about such dastardly attempt to disturb the sanctity of the temple. Lashing out at the BJP-RSS over reports that they were organising their activists to take control of the Sabarimala temple and create a law and order problem there, the Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) claimed that a unit of the ruling party at the Centre was planning to send "trained" volunteers with necessary equipment to the temple, which it said, was a serious matter.

''The BJP and the RSS in Kerala have been organising their activists to send to the Sabarimala temple since it opened for the current pilgrimage season from November 16. The aim is to take control of the premises of the temple and to create a law and order problem there,'' the Polit Bureau said. It said the proof of this nefarious intent had come to light with the exposure of a circular issued on November 14, 2018 by the Kannur District Committee of the BJP calling for sending of 200 trained volunteers from four areas of the district to the Sabarimala temple on December 13.
