AAP welcomes HCs stay on tree felling for redevelopment in six colonies

New Delhi: Welcoming the interim stay of Delhi High Court (HC) till July 4 on tree felling for redevelopment in six colonies in the national capital, the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday demanded that the Central Government should scrap this project. "AAP welcomes the decision of HC to stay any further felling of trees in Central Government's VIP housing project at Delhi.

It was a day light mass murder to fell 17000 trees," AAP MLA Saurabh Bharadwaj said in a tweet. Stating that the elected Government of Delhi will oppose this Central Goverment's project 'tooth and nail', Mr Bharadwaj demanded that the Central Government should scrap this project. The AAP legislator also thanked Delhiites for standing up to save trees.
