New Delhi, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday greeted people on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Mr Kejriwal said,''Heartiest greetings to all on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.'' Delhi Labour Minister Gopal Rai said,''May there be happiness, prosperity, happiness. May your life be successful, when Ganesh ji comes to your door. Heartiest greetings to all on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi''. Ganesh Chaturthi, the ten-day long festival celebrates the birth of Lord Ganesha. It is celebrated with immense fervour and gaiety in Maharashtra and Gujarat. Devotees offer 'modak' to the Lord whom they lovingly called Bappa. The devotees bring idols of Lord Ganesh to their home and worship for a one-and-a-half-day, three days, five days, seven days, 10 days. Some even stretch the festival for 11 days.
