AAP leader Sanjay Singh attacks Centre over Ayushman Bharat scheme

New Delhi: AAP leader and Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh on Monday criticised the BJP government at the Centre, questioning whether people were actually getting health services at private hospitals under the Centre's Ayushman Bharat health insurance scheme. Mentioning about the Mohalla Clinics of Delhi, he said that one should come and see how the treatment was being done and how the accidental policy works in the Capital wherein the state government bears all expenses of a patient's treatment. Mr Singh hit-out at the BJP alleging that the same party which had inflicted violence on the people of UP and Bihar was now worried about the same people hailing from the Eastern India (Purvanchalis). Meanwhile , Delhi BJP Chief Manoj Tiwari had hit-out at Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal over his comment regarding the health services in Delhi wherein the CM said that it was because of Delhi's better health services that a patient coming from Bihar and spending Rs 500 ticket with comfort avails treatment free of cost which is otherwise worth Rs 5 lakh.

Kejriwal on Sunday took a dig at the Centre and the prevailing health schemes around the country and praised the health services available in the national capital. He had further said that the national Capital has its own capacity and Delhiites may have availed the services with more ease if the system was not under pressure for patients coming from outside Delhi, He also said that though it made the Delhi government feel good about the fact that people of the country were able to avail such good health services in the national capital but every city's infrastructure has constraints of its capacity. While laying the foundation stone of a new trauma unit at Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital in West Delhi on Sunday, Delhi CM said that patients from Bihar and others states make long queues outside the hospitals in Delhi which causes problems for locals. AAP leader Sanjay Singh took a pot shot on the BJP, saying that the party that makes people of UP, Bihar face violence in Gujrat and Maharashtra and implemented NRC in Assam making millions of UP-Bihar people homeless, declared them foreigners in their own country, today they are worried about Purvanchalis. Manoj Tiwari accused Mr Kejriwal of having hatred towards people from Bihar and asked why Mr Kejriwal feels pained when a patient from Bihar or any other state gets treated in Delhi. He said that the Delhi CM was allegedly humiliating people from other states by flaunting his government's health services.
