22 year-old man killed by elder brother in Moti Nagar

New Delhi: A 22 year-old-man was allegedly murdered by his elder brother in Moti Nagar area of West Delhi, the police said on Friday. According to police, a call was received on Thursday night at around 2148 hours regarding a boy's condition to be serious near Basaidarapur, Moti Nagar, who has been stabbed. On receiving information, police reached the spot and found that Anand Tiwari(22) was allegedly stabbed by his elder brother Amit Tiwari (25). According to police, accused Amit slitted his brother's throat following an altercation. Anand had died on the spot, while his brother was absconding since the incident took place, police said. Meanwhile, mulitple teams have been deployed to nab the accused, they added.

Both are natives of village Tikmalpur district Ambedkarnagar, Uttar Pradesh. Deceased Anand Tiwari was a worker at the Gutkha manufacturing unit at Rama Road, whereas Amit did odd jobs including driving, selling pan masala, and was presently unemployed. A case has been registered under section 302 IPC in this regard based on the statement of the mother of the accused, the police said. As per locals and initial inquiry, it was revealed that Amit was a regular drinker and had consistent fights with his mother Shanti Devi and younger brother.
