RBIs nod for Kerala Bank ; expected to begin services from Nov 1

Thiruvananthapuram: Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has given green signal to CPI(M)-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) Government's ambitious project to amalgamate 13 District Cooperative Banks (DCBs) with the Kerala State Cooperative Bank for forming the proposed 'Kerala Bank.' More than 800 DCBs branches will be merged with Kerala State Cooperative Bank, sources said. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Wednesday welcomed RBI's approval for the formation of 'Kerala Bank' in the State.
